KATE2025

How to use

The instructions are provided in the Operating manual. KATE supports the browser Firefox.

As of September 28, 2026:

We have identified an issue where calculations may stall when making predictions for multiple chemicals. As a temporary measure, if the calculation for an individual chemical does not finish within 30 seconds, it is automatically terminated and a timeout error will be displayed. Please rerun the calculation for any chemicals for which a timeout error is displayed.

Note: This error occurs independently of the specific compound being processed, and rerunning the prediction often allows the calculation to complete successfully.

We have also identified cases where calculation results cannot be retrieved due to timeout settings in the web browser on the user's PC. Therefore, we will temporarily reduce the maximum number of chemicals that can be processed in a single run from 1,000 to 300. We expect this temporary limit to remain in place until the end of March 2027.

Thank you for your understanding.

Disclaimer

The prediction results generated by the KATE system are not guaranteed to be accurate. Please use this system as a reference tool for estimating the ecotoxicity values of chemical substances. Values predicted by KATE cannot be used to satisfy the requirement for ecotoxicity data that are necessary for notification regarding new chemical substances under the Japanese Act on the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc. (Chemical Substances Control Law).
