About ALDAME (working title)
The QSAR models used in KATE and similar systems, which predict toxicity through linear regression, have the advantage of being easy to interpret. However, for chemicals with weak correlations between log P and toxicity — such as highly reactive substances — accurate prediction becomes difficult when using linear regression based solely on log P as the descriptor.
To address this, we have been collaborating with the research group at the University of Gdańsk (QSAR Lab Sp. z o.o.) to develop a new prediction method using the KwLPR algorithm (Kernel-weighted Local Polynomial Regression). Using this approach, we have developed predictive models for acute fish toxicity, acute crustacean toxicity, acute algal toxicity, and chronic algal toxicity.
ALDAME (working title) is a web application that incorporates these models.
Notice
The prediction results generated by the ALDAME (wroking title) are not guaranteed to be accurate. Please use this system as a reference tool for estimating the ecotoxicity values of chemical substances. Values predicted by ALDAME (wroking title) cannot be used to satisfy the requirement for ecotoxicity data that are necessary for notification regarding new chemical substances under the Japanese Act on the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc. (Chemical Substances Control Law).
